FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is required before my dog can start camp?

All dogs must have current rabies, distemper (all rounds complete), and bordetella. In addition, you will need to fill out the three enrollment forms found under the "Forms" tab. As long as your dog meets all requirements, simply give us a call to sign up!

*Canine influenza is not required, however it is recommended.

Are non-neutered/spayed dogs permitted?

We require that all dogs 7 months or older are neutered or spayed. This is simply for safety purposes as dogs are in mixed gender group play all day long.

Do I have to stick to a set schedule?

Here at Rugged Oak we are very flexible and willing to work with your schedule! While some prefer to set a regular schedule, others come whenever suits them. However, those who choose to set a schedule will automatically have a space reserved on days that become full by enrolling in a monthly membership.

See "Rates" page for membership options and pricing.

Will my dog be kept in a crate during the day?

Rugged Oak Canine Camp is a crate free daycare! Dogs spend their entire day in play yards with their friends. Though dogs are not crated, we do have kennels available incase a dog needs to take a break or eat a meal.

Is your facility indoor only? Where do the dogs go to the bathroom?

Yes! We are an indoor only facility. We have multiple play yards, each equipped with its own heating/air conditioning unit to keep the dogs comfortable no matter the weather outside. As for going to the bathroom, each yard also has what we call, a "potty box"! These are large designated turf areas where dogs can relieve themselves. Because it is turf, it is just like going to the bathroom on grass and it does not interfere with potty training at home.

How many friends will my dog have?

Typically group sizes range from 5 to 8. However, each day depends on how may dogs are here, which dogs make good play mates, etc. Groups are determined based on play styles more than just size, however size is still a factor.

What happens if there is an incident between my dog and another dog?

Safety is our top priority, but we understand that not every dog will get along. We are trained to read body language to help prevent problems from escalating. If a problem does arise, we will take the proper steps to remove said dog(s) from the situation.
